PRIVACY POLICY
§1 INTRODUCTION
I. Protecting privacy is a particular concern for THE ZEED. Therefore, all relevant information on the use of personal data in the online shop at www.thezeed.io is set out below.
II. THE ZEED processes personal data exclusively in accordance with the provisions of the German General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO). Processing is based on:
-
Art. 6 (1) (b) DSGVO, insofar as processing is necessary for the performance of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures (e.g., processing your order, delivering the goods, handling payment).
-
Art. 6 (1) (c) DSGVO, insofar as we are subject to legal obligations (e.g., tax and commercial law retention obligations).
-
Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO, insofar as processing is necessary to safeguard legitimate interests (e.g., ensuring IT security, preventing misuse, or enforcing legal claims).
III. For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content (such as orders or inquiries), THE ZEED online shop uses SSL/TLS encryption. With encryption enabled, data you transmit cannot be read by third parties.
§2 DATA COLLECTION
I. As little data as possible is collected. THE ZEED rejects the use of so-called “cookies” or software that analyzes website navigation, as well as tracking tools.
II. Consumers can use THE ZEED online shop without having to provide personal data. However, when accessing a website, data is automatically collected by the web server, such as information about the browser used, the IP address, as well as the date and time of access.
III. Personal data is requested during the ordering process. This data is mandatory for processing the contract and is marked as required fields in the ordering process. Typically, this includes name, billing and delivery address, an email address, and a telephone number.
IV. If the consumer contacts THE ZEED via email, all personal data provided will be used solely to respond to the inquiry.
V. If the consumer uses the contact form provided on the website, the information entered therein (e.g., name, email address, content of the message) will be processed exclusively for handling the request. This data will not be passed on to third parties.
§3 DATA DISCLOSURE
I. In order to process a consumer payment, personal data must be transmitted to the payment provider.
II. The consumer’s personal data will be forwarded to the shipping company commissioned with the delivery, insofar as this is necessary for the fulfillment of the contract.
III. For payments made in Bitcoin or via the Lightning Network, no personal data will be transmitted to external payment service providers. However, the transaction itself may be recorded on the blockchain.
§4 STORAGE PERIOD
I. Personal data will only be stored as long as necessary for the respective processing purposes or as long as statutory retention obligations exist.
II. Order data and billing-relevant information will be retained by THE ZEED in accordance with tax and commercial law requirements for up to ten years.
III. Technical data (e.g., server log files) is usually deleted automatically after a few days to weeks.
IV. Once the purpose of processing no longer applies and no statutory retention periods exist, the relevant data will be routinely deleted.
§5 CONSUMER RIGHTS
I. As a consumer, you have the following rights regarding your personal data with THE ZEED:
-
Right of access (Art. 15 DSGVO) to the data processed by us, its origin, recipients, and the purpose of processing,
-
Right to rectification (Art. 16 DSGVO) of incorrect or incomplete data,
-
Right to erasure (Art. 17 DSGVO) (“right to be forgotten”), provided no statutory retention obligations prevent this,

-
Right to data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO),
-
Right to object (Art. 21 DSGVO) to the processing of personal data, insofar as it is based on Art. 6 (1) (e) or (f) DSGVO.
II. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data by THE ZEED (Art. 77 DSGVO).
